Making a Difference
2023 Future Ready Iowa Grant
$42,390.00 received for our At-Risk Summer Youth Program. We celebrated the graduation of all 20 youth from our 8 week program. We went to work with youth ages 14-24 on job readiness skills, self-care, financial literacy, de- escalation training and exploration of high demand jobs and their education requirement.
Twenty youth completed the 10-week program and received funds for engaging in 5 weeks of workshop training and received $13/hour for on-the-job training at a location of interest.
We had unbelievable support from the community as we placed our participants at businesses like Windsor Manor, Downing Construction, Downey Tire, Hotel Pommier, Pipsy’s Wee care and Preschool, Many Hands Thrift Store, CemenTech and The National Balloon Classic.
Upon graduation of all 20 participants, they received certifications in CPR/First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens and Mandatory Reporter.
